1. "Construct a Bakery Vignette"

The vignette includes a floor, back wall with shelf, sign and front counter. The bakery counter has a curved front "glass" and 3 graduated shelves that are slightly angled. The back wall will be pre-painted with chalkboard paint. Materials will be provided for the black & white tile floor, but if your want something different bring it. The finished size is 6 1/2" x 6 1/2" x 10".

Tools/Materials needed:
Basic tool box, cutting mat, pointed tweezers, glue, white paint, blue tape, foam brushes and a small artist brush, clamps, a squaring jig if you have one, and a box to take your project home in.

2. "Construct a Floral Vignette"

The vignette includes a floor, back wall with shelf, sign and front counter. The floral counter has a flat top and straight, spacious shelves. The floral back wall comes with the mural wallpaper (bring your own wallpaper paste). Materials will be provided for the green & white tile floor, but if you want any other color or different wallpaper please bring it. The finished size is 6 1/2" x 6 1/2" x 10".

Tools/Materials needed:

5. "African Violets, Daffodils, Day Lilys and Tulips"

Join Arlene in making 1 african violet plant (pot included), 10 daffodil stems, 10 day lily stems and 10 tulip stems. These might look nice inside the Connie Reagans afternoon workshop - "Floral Vignette".

6. "Geranium, Hyacinth, Hydrangea and Iris"

7. "The Butcher, Baker, or Candlestick Maker..."

You decide what your gentleman should be. He will be dressed in a shirt, vest and pants with a full or half apron. The color and neatness of scruffiness will tell the story of what he does. YOU MUST EMAIL ELLEN OR CALL WITH YOU DOLL'S PROFESSION (and she will suggest face and clothing colors) TWO WEEKS BEFORE THE CLASS!!! She will also have several tan and African American dolls.

Supplies needed: cutting mat, small scissors, a washcloth, Aleen's tacky (gold bottle), glue syringe, alligator clips, sewing needle and pins. Anything you don't have, let her know and she'll bring extras. Magnification and lighting are always useful.

9. "Fireplace Tools"

Students will learn to solder brass with their handheld butane torch. Precast parts with raw materials will allow students to experiment with the art on a familiar form. Students then can choose how to finish their pieces: polished or antiques.

Please bring a cutting mat, handheld butane torch, smock and eye protection.


10. "Hurricane Lamp"

Students will learn the difference between soft and hard soldering. With their handheld butane torch, students will practice on Ron's signature hurricane lamp. This will include brass working to assemble a working porthole and gimbol candle. Students will also use a Dremel to polish their work.

Please bring a cutting mat, smock, Dremel, handheld butane torch and eye protection.
